Total prize money at the 2023 Cricket World Cup:
$10 Million USD
Both Cricket and Baseball have Innings:
Both cricket and baseball are divided into innings, where each team takes turns batting and fielding. An inning consists of a set number of deliveries (cricket) or pitches (baseball) before the teams switch roles.
Advantages of Playing Cricket:
Cricket is immensely popular in many countries, especially in regions like South Asia, Australia, England, and the Caribbean. Switching to cricket could open up opportunities for international play, exposure to diverse cultures, and a chance to compete on a global stage.
Baseball/Softball Skills Can Translate Easily:
While there are differences between baseball and cricket, some skills are transferable. Hand-eye coordination, quick reflexes, and a strong throwing arm are valuable in both sports. A baseball player might find that certain skills acquired in baseball can be applied effectively in cricket.
Women in Cricket:
Women’s cricket has seen several pioneering moments, such as the first Women’s Cricket World Cup held in 1973, paving the way for the formal recognition of women’s international cricket.
About the NACC
At The North American Cricket Club, our mission is to elevate the sport of cricket to new heights by establishing a world-class professional cricket league that embodies excellence, inclusivity, and innovation. We are committed to creating a platform that not only showcases the highest level of athletic prowess but also provides opportunity and fosters a sense of community, sportsmanship, and entertainment.
The NACC recognizes there are highly-skilled, extremely talented, and very motivated baseball and softball athletes in North America that are simply lacking an opportunity to play ball. Cricket offers a game—similar to baseball and softball—for athletes to continue playing and earn a salary.
Our Philosophy
The North American Cricket Club is a new league dedicated to bringing unique playing opportunities to male and female athletes involved in minor/independent league baseball and collegiate softball leagues. Cricket is a popular worldwide sport with professional leagues in multiple countries. The NACC recognizes there are highly-skilled, extremely talented, and very motivated baseball and softball athletes in North America that are simply lacking an opportunity to play ball. Cricket offers a game—similar to baseball and softball—for athletes to continue playing and earn a salary.
The NACC Objectives
The purpose and objectives of NACC are:
-
- To promote and foster the primary business of League members, each member being the owner of a professional cricket club located in North America.
- To do and perform such other functions as may be necessary to carry out the purpose and objectives of the League.
- To provide career opportunities for current and former North American collegiate, and minor and Independent League baseball players to transfer their skills to a new sport where they can further their professional playing careers and earnings potential.
- To provide career opportunities for current and former North American collegiate female softball players to transfer their skills to a new sport after college, where they can further their professional playing careers and earnings potential.
Why Join The NACC?
The NACC was created specifically to provide an extension/alternative to the careers of minor/independent league baseball players as well as to the careers of thousands of female softball players throughout the collegiate system. For many talented professional baseball players, life in the minor leagues can prove to be financially challenging and for female athletes in the collegiate softball world, few, if any, opportunities exist beyond college for these athletes to continue their athletic careers. The NACC creates new opportunities for these athletes that simply didn’t exist until now.
INSTRUCTIONAL CLINICS
NACC Instructional Clinics offer a 2-day introduction to the game of cricket. They are specifically designed for any athlete interested in taking a sneak peek and possibly “Having-a-Go” at the sport.
TRYOUTS
For those who wish to compete in the sport, the NACC will hold 4 Regional 3-week training camps designed to get you ready to showcase your talents in front of the League’s franchise owners and scouts at the NACC Combine.
COMBINE
The top 100 Athletes from the 4 Regional Tryouts, who declare for the NACC Draft, will be invited to attend the NACC’s Combine. Franchise Owners, Coaches, and Scouts will be in attendance.
